February 3rd

We watched the short film Dangle about a man who found a rope dangling from the sky that appeared to control the sun. He broke it and plunged everything into darkness! We used this to generate ideas for our news reports. It was a silent film so we ' hotseated ' people in order to get views and opinions from different points of view.
There were no names mentioned, no characters in the film so we used our imagination! We had witness reports from passers by, neighbours and even a  local arborist. Bob Bush , the arborist, felt that the culprit should be "chopped down!"
We also had police repors and views from a private detective.Lots of ideas which we used on Friday to write our news reports. Our next task is to design and write using ICT our front pages of our newspapers .
Who are you? What were you doing?

Why were you there?

What did you see?

Is there a reward?

What will happen?

Who is responsible?

4 members of the class earned extra golden time due to their excellent behaviour, attitude and work .
Well done to them for being such outstanding role models.Cushions for the next week as well as certificates and extra time.

This week we aim to type up our news reports, finish Unit 9 spellings, learn new activities in SEAL with Mrs Pykett , continue learning about fractions, decimals and percentages in maths, find out about Sikh Gurus and refine our gym sequences using apparatus.
 A lot to do!
