We have based our English and art on the book.
The story written in poem form is about a robin and his long and arduous journey home.
In art we drew and painted pictures of robins.
using water colours...
sketching...
looking carefully at pictures of robins...
blending to make the colours right
happy with the results
In English we have listened to the author reading his book, pausing and writing our own next parts. At one point we paused and did 'conscience corridor' where a child walked down 2 lines of children in role as the robin and the children said what they thought he should do. At the end, the robin having listed to all the advice told us his decision.
Arthur was the robin in one group, he decided that he was to be looked after by the fisherman on the boat and then fly away to continue his journey.
Hollie was the other robin, she also listened to the 2 opposing views and decided to also continue flying home.
Next week we are writing our own stories based on the poem .
In music we worked in groups composing music.
each group used different instruments
Listening carefully to instructions before playing.
