Cross Country for Year 5&6.

Our 5 girls and 5 boys making up our teams took part in their second race at The Meres.
Our girls team built on their experiences in the previous race and worked as a team with the top 3 places being: 10th, 11th and 12th0 a fabulous effort.
Well done girls.
The boys best places were last week coming 10th, 20th and 26th.

The last race is next week so hopefully the best is yet to come.

Roald Dahl Day 2019

September 13th was Roald Dahl's birthday so in class 3 we celebrated by holding our own special day: we dressed up as Dahl's characters, wore yellow( his favourite colour) and completed special Dahl related activities.

Class 3 end of year Dojo awards.

All the Dojos for the year were added up and children invited to choose their reward ...
footballs, pens, craft kits,notebooks...

Well done to Carise our overall winner for the year, in fact Carise has been the winner in all 3 terms so was a fitting overall end of year winner.

Class Awards and Leavers Celebration Assembly.

We held our class awards and leavers celebration assembly in the last week of term. Each  year group received a Merit award presented by our governor Mrs.Chesterton. Class teachers gave their reasons for their choices.




Holly received the Y6 Merit award...


Brooke the Y 5 award...

Y6 lead the assembly with memories, poems, letters, anecdotes , recipes and much more.




                                                      Layton received the Y4 award.










Tom received the Y2 award.


The Y1 award for Zak...


We won the League 2 netball shield and Lucy and Mathilda  received it on behalf of the team.

Medals were given to the successful netballers.


Our Gold Sports Mark awarded for our sport and PE in 2018/2019.
Our Bronze Sports Ambassadors receive the shield.






And now for something completely different...The Oscars for Y6!
Staff have been voting after I made a list of awards...

Mr.Caton ( our student teacher in 2018 who taught the then Y5, now Y6's) came back to help me present them.Nominations were for: best writer, artist, sports person, cricketer, advert adage maker...

A really great end of the year...thank you Y6 you put on a wonderful celebration of your years at Marston School. We wish you good luck at your new secondary schools: we gave you the wings so now go and fly.
