Rainforest Day Workshop in class 3.

We welcomed Simon from Explorer Academy to share his experiences , photos and knowledge about The Amazon Rainforest as part of our Geography topic where we are learning about Rainforests. We couldn't visit one so Simon was the ideal person to enhance our learning.
4 lucky children ( selected due to their fabulous participation and answers during discussion and questions) got to dress in some rainforest explorers kit and pose infront of a special "green screen." As you can see- Simon added the background making it look like Isabelle, Harmony, Harry and Sam were deep in the Amazon.

A super day learning about the Amazon Rainforest.

Our Bishops Visitor.

We had a special collective worship were Reverend Hadley introduced us to our new Bishops visitor: Mrs Kay Sutherland.Mrs Sutherland introduced herself and told us some of the things she would be doing throughout the coming year.

We shared a special prayer together.
Mrs Sutherland played the piano as we sang one of our favourite hymns: Sing Hosanna.

Lizzie Simmonds visit.

We welcomed Lizzie Simmonds an Olympic swimmer and Inspire+ ambassador to a special assembly. She talked to us about setting goals, working to reach them and the importance of perseverance.

Talking about the "ups and downs of sport" and what to do if things don't go to plan.

Lizzie told us the importance of trying again and again and not to give up.This fitted in with our school value of perseverance.

She showed us some of her medals whilst answering some of our questions.

Our Bronze Ambassadors showed the medals to the school.

Thank you Lizzie for an inspiring Assembly.
