Legacy Tour and our Bronze Ambassadors

We had the Legacy torch passed onto us on behalf of Barkston School and our Bronze Ambassadors led the special assembly. The tour is all about the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games that take place in Japan later this year.
Leading the assembly.

The flag which Jonathon Broom Edwards will take to Japan with him. We wrote a special message for him.

We then enjoyed a Boccia session with Carl .

Such concentration.

Our Bronze Ambassadors went to Long Bennington school to pass the Legacy Tour to them. They read the pledge and handed the flag onto their ambassadors.

Torch Competition winner

We heard at the end of term that Abigail had won the Inspire+ Legacy Tour torch competition. Carl came to a special collective worship to present Abigail with her own torch that had been made using her design.
We all get to see what the torch looks like.

This is the torch that will be passed on to all the schools in the Inspire+ Legacy Tour( around 55 schools).

                                                               Well done Abigail.

Senior Citizens Sing a Long

Senior citizens from the village were entertained by some of our musicians and singers whilst enjoying mince pies and coffee.

A festive celebration.

Church Carol Service

The whole school celebrated Christmas with a service of carols and readings with class 2 doing the readings and class 1 a song ( class 3 had the leading roles in the recent Christmas Play so it was the chance for the younger children to have the leading roles today.)

Marston Super Strings open the service with Mrs.Jones playing alongside her group.

Benji sang the first verse of Once In Royal David's City.

Class 2 singers...

The church was filled with beautiful singing throughout the service.

Christmas Tree Festival

Mrs Ballaam took the top Dojo winners to decorate the school Christmas Tree for the Tree Festival in church. Each class had made decorations with Mrs Ballam and the Y6 decorated the tree in a cold chuch.

The tree looked lovely and we all saw it when we had our carol service in church.

Pantomime visit

We welcome a touring company into school for our Christmas pantomime and were treated to lots of fun with the actors transforming our hall with their props, songs, costumes and acting.

                                                     audience participation...

We thoroughly enjoyed the panto watching in our Christmas Jumpers.

He's behind you!
