English-this week we looked at Remembrance Poetry and learned ways to write our own poetry based on abstract nouns. Jess is showing the class ( as 4 children missed the previous lesson as they were on a school Carbon Ambassadors visit) how to generate their own poem based on "love."
The class writing and sharing their ideas in their writer's tool kits.
talking and refining ideas
working with others- comparing poems about love, hate, war, peace...
learning from others
some fantastic poetry as a result
Our homework was to write our autobiographies.
They were super-I found out lots about them and felt privileged to read them.
Now the class are enjoying reading them too.
Choosing which to read next
engrossed in their selected autobiographies
enjoying and appreciating everyones work
In maths we have worked on multiplication-here we are problem solving using our skills.
Can children work out the times tables?
Sounds easy?
No numbers were given, only symbols and the rules that the shapes stand for 11 numbers between 0 and 12 where each number is a different number.
trying possibilities
making predictions
it can't be because...
helping each other
it must be because...
getting there
the problem solved successfully.
Children in need...
Maths-working with different people showing them how to read and write coordinates to make a picture of Pudsey.
not everyone was confident so asked Y6 to help them
could Y6 explain clearly?
would everyone get a picture of Pudsey?
Yes!
Pudsey watching !
We also made a copper coin trail round the school. How far would it go?
would it get all round school?
All classes working together.
making sure no gaps were left
A LOT of copper coins!
