Children were asked questions- who are you, where were you when the air raid took place, how did you feel, what do you think about the war etc and those who were in the "hot seat2 answered from their chosen point of view. Children ( and me) wrote the responses down so we could use some of these as direct quotes in our news reports next week.
James being asked questions.
Sasha gave fabulous answers as "Churchill."I noted some excellent Churchillian style quotes for the learning wall.
Luca in the role as Chamberlain.
Gracie was a child whose farther was away fighting in the war- she also gave us some excellent quotes empathising with a child in 1940.
I filled 2 A3 sheets with quotes which will go on our learning wall to help us with our writing next week.
Super work- questions asked as well as responses given. Children who had not experienced hot seating before learned how to asked open questions in order to get a detailed response.
