RE-looking at artefacts

During our topic about Buddhism we looked at a range of artefacts. We discussed what they might be, who might use them, where we might find them and what answers to questions we wanted to find out.
We came up with some brilliant drawings and suggestions that showed a good empathy and deep thinking .

Are the 4 carved rings significant? They are on the handle and on the main part ?

Why does this statue have jewels on it? Is it to signify Buddha before he gave up his riches?
