Author Visit- Rachel Hamilton

Rachel Hamilton came to talk about her book-The Case of the Exploding Toilet. She talked about the journey of a book-how she came to write her book. She brought along her story board and gave children chance to discuss and share their own ideas.
How a story starts-with an idea.

Where do the ideas come from?

what happens next?

lots of questions and answers

If you want to write---then write-a good message.

Acting out the first chapter-mum ( Conor) a policeman and questions to where has dad gone?
why are his smoking shoes left?

an exploding toilet, a wacky scientist and a little girl who’s too clever for her own good.

28 children came back on Monday to buy the book and Rachel came on Friday to sign them all for us.

1 year 6 has finished the book already and is looking forward to the sequel.
Some children in class 3 have been inspired to write and are writing their own story and plan to send it to Rachel for her comments.
