October 19th

Over the past 2 weeks we have finished writing  our stories about First Day at School, they are now in a folder so everyone in class can read them. We are about to start unit 4 of our spellings- this will continue after half term.We are looking at Science Fiction and The War of the Worlds.

Our cross country team were presented with their certificates infront of the whole school.

Our netball team played their first round of league matches at KGGS  on Wednesday. We won one game and lost 2 games . There are no photos-I took the camera but forgot to take photos as we were too busy learning where to stand, what to do and who and how to play! It was a learning experience as all but Amelia have not played in matches before only our 2 netball club sessions. As a result I think we did really well and picked up the rules quickly. During our netball club we will refine our skills ready for the next matches.

In maths Y5 applied their skills and knowledge of multiples and played some maths games.
Andrew and Jay discussing tactics.
Chloe and Veranika enjoying a multiple challenge activity.
Georgie and Megan and Times Table Lotto.

Daniel, Ben amd Jamie explore Multiples using peg boards.
Year 6 explored square number sequences, triangular sequences and Pascal's triangle. Lots of patterns were found and shared. We are getting skilled at identifying patterns.

Year 6 ,especially House and Vice Captains, are busy preparing for Book Day on Wednesday. Children will be working in their houses enjoying activities designed by  Y6. Lots to look forward to this week.
