Cross Country

Tonight-18th September, was the first race in the series of 3 in the Grantham Area Cross Country Competition. 12 Y5/6 children took part, many of them competing for the first time.Running round the school field for 10 minutes does not compare to the real thing! Lining up alongside 80 other children and running for 1500m in something else altogether! We had several very good places in both the boys and girls races-Daniel and Conor came 12th and 13th and Jess and Sophie (both Y5) were  also placed just outside the top 10. All children showed great effort and determination- a pleasing start.
All smart in the school kit.
Our team of 2013.

New Term New Class

The first few days we did various activities to try to get to know the new class 3. Our homework was to design a shield or crest that showed pictures , photos and words "All about me."Our display shows some of our creations.

DARE Officer Colin comes in every Wednesday to deliver our PHSE this term. This week the focus was friends-what makes a good friend?

In English our topic is Significant Authors with a focus on Roald Dahl. Last Friday, 13th September was Roald Dahl Day so in class 3 we dressed in yellow(his favourite colour), wore some items of clothing inside out( from the list of 50 ways to celebrate Roald Dahl Day!). Homework was to complete more activities from the list- our display shows some of the results.
Unfortunately I cannot show all the homework as some evidence was eaten! Children enjoyed number 30
-Mix together ice-cream,chocolate, marshmallows and other delicious ingredients to create your own Whipple Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight. I saw some super photos as evidence.
We are continuing to use Roald Dahl as inspiration and have enjoyed inventing words and describing various characters. With much more to come.

In ICT Mrs Pykett is using Google Earth and we have been zooming in on Marston! Great fun.
Can we find various landmarks?

Can we follow the map on the Interactive White Board?
Zooming in on the school.
